Welcome to the un-official website of the Metro Atlanta Great Pyrenees Club. Our official site was hacked into and destroyed a few months back and until we get it up and running, I thought that I would create a space for club members and interested parties to view what is going on with the club. The most important part of our club is the rescue operation. We have quite a few dogs in our care at the moment and want to find all of these guys a good permanent home. You can view the dogs that we have up for adoption at our petfinder site or at www.pyrrescuega.com

Learn more about the most noble of dog breeds. The Great Pyrenees Club of America maintains a wonderful site, full of information about the Great Pyrenees.
Our club is  affiliated with the National Club and we adhere to their guidelines. A copy of our Constitution is available here

Here are the Objectives of our club, straight from the Constitution

ARTICLE 2  Objectives:

To encourage the responsible ownership and the discriminate breeding of purebred Great Pyrenees in the conviction that such undertakings shall be solely for the purpose of attempting to bring the breed’s natural qualities ever closer to perfection;

            To bring together all fanciers of the Great Pyrenees breed who reside within the metropolitan Atlanta area;

To encourage and assist all interested persons; especially new owners, in learning about caring for, training, showing, breeding, and to generally expand the body of knowledge of the Great Pyrenees breed; to acquaint all persons with the Club and welcome them to membership if they chose to join;

To urge members and breeders to accept the American Kennel Club standard of the breed as the only standard of excellence by which Great Pyrenees shall be judged;

To protect and advance the interests of the breed through, but not limited to:  the placement of homeless Great Pyrenees, the censure of indiscriminate breeding practices and inhumane treatment of Great Pyrenees, increasing public awareness and understanding of the breed and to work towards securing publicity and legislation beneficial to the interests of dog breeders and owners;

And, as a Club, to operate under the auspices of the Great Pyrenees Club of America, to support membership in that organization and to encourage Club members to abide by the Club’s Code of Ethics.
